An Analysis of The Theme of Treasure Island

I believe the theme of Treasure Island is that money and riches corrupts people, makes them desperate. This is evident from the beginning. For example, both Black Dog and the Blind Man attack and threaten Billy Bones for the treasure map. The squire is in such haste to get to the island that he lets a F*CKING PIRATE choose the crew. Said pirate’s greed results in a mutiny that kills various men and traumatizes a child. Not to mention the man who buried the treasure killed the digging crew just to keep its location a secret. But that’s just me, what do YOU think?
